Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? - Baird, Glenmede

Baird, the US financial services group, has appointed Melanie Schmieding as a director of Baird Family Wealth in its private wealth management group. 

Schmieding is joining from Wells Fargo’s private wealth business formerly known as Abbot Downing. At Wells Fargo she managed the firm’s largest and most complex individual relationships, leading a team of specialists that served both internal and external clients.

In her new role, Schmieding will work alongside Jaleigh White, director. Schmieding will be based in Baird’s Denver office. White, who was formerly with Hilliard Lyons, which was acquired by Baird in 2019, is based in Sarasota, Florida.

Glenmede
US wealth management firm Glenmede has set up an office in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, led by Mark Busher.

Busher, who is regional director, reports with his team to Adam Douberly, director of expansion markets for private wealth at Glenmede.

“Pittsburgh and the Western Pennsylvania region is especially appealing to Glenmede given its economic growth characteristics and private wealth demographics,” Susan Mucciarone, executive director for private wealth, said. “In addition, we’re excited to build upon our existing network of clients and advisors in the region while rounding out our strong geographic presence in Pennsylvania and Ohio, and along the East Coast.”

Busher brings more than two decades of wealth management experience to Glenmede following a 20-year career at PNC. He most recently was managing director at Hawthorn, PNC Family Wealth. In that role, he oversaw the growth and operations of PNC’s Pittsburgh and Northeast Pennsylvania regions and led a team that provided services to multi-generational families.

Glenmede's headquarters are in Philadelphia and it has offices in Ohio, Delaware, Florida, New Jersey, New York, Pittsburgh and Washington DC.
